Folk soaked songs: “Moonshiner” by Kevin Morby

Kevin Morby brings us fine folk-infused songs since 2014.  The former Bass player of indie folk band  Woods and frontman of The Babies,  really makes his mark as a solo musician. With influences like  Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and Nina Simone you find yourself listening to a blend of Folk, Americana and Roots songs. My favorite song: “Moonshiner”

Kevin Morby and Waxahatchee EP  2018

As a solo musician Morby released several recordings, his latest alongside singer Waxahatchee was an EP called “Farewell Transmission b / w The Dark Don’t Hide It” and released in January 2018.

Band Bio

In the Autumn of 2014, Kevin Morby moved to the small Los Angeles neighborhood of Mount Washington. Previous tenants at his new home happened to leave an upright piano behind, and Kevin, a beginner at the piano, immediately sat at the new instrument and began composing the songs that would form ‘Singing Saw’, his first album for new label Dead Oceans
