LISTEN: J. Roddy Walston and the Business’ new song “The Wanting”

Rock ‘n Roll band J. Roddy Walston & The Business released their first new song in four years titled “The Wanting”. Over the years these guys performed all over the USA where they made name for themselves with their wild live shows!

Rock ‘n Roll songs and wild live shows!

With fantastic songs like “Don’t Break The Needle”,  “Don’t Get Old”, “Take It As It Comes” and “Marigold” they showed how to bring creative Southern Rock ‘n Roll with a totally unique sound. Therefore it isn’t strange these guys have a big group of loyal fans. and I’m one of them.

New J. Roddy Walston & The Business Album this fall

The band’s forthcoming record came to life in their own Richmond, VA recording studio and was co-produced by the band and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Built To Spill). It will be released this fall.

“I personally fell in love with writing music again,” Walston explained. “It took awhile but once I realized I had room to try things that I had never tried before, I became addicted to the process.”  “The Wanting” describes the relationship of an estranged father and son: “Even though it is a dark song with a brutal ending, I find hope and beauty in the idea of these two people that had a shared sense of both regret and longing for each other.”

Piano Rock ‘n Roll

I’m looking forward hearing more songs from the upcoming album,  but “The Wanting” shows promising.  There ain’t that many bands that can bring unique Rock ‘n Roll music these days with piano as one of the main instrument so hopefully,  we are going to hear that back on the new record like we did over the years!
